The board game Abalone is a classic that originated back in 1987 and won the admiration of all fans of logic games where luck plays no part.
This beautiful and functional board game has spaces for 2 teams of large marbles. Players take turns pushing marbles across the board, with the goal of pushing 6 opposing marbles off. The main idea is that a column of marbles has a 'weight' given by the number of marbles in the line. Someone will have to push a heavier group of marbles to push the column along that axis. However, with 6 possible directions, it is difficult to defend perfectly.
